Maryland’s Mortgage Licensing Update: What Lenders Need to Know Maryland’s recent advisory opinion and emergency regulations require all mortgage loans and lending entities—including passive and foreign trusts—to secure proper licensing by April 10, 2025. With enforcement temporarily suspended, lenders have a short window to comply, with limited exceptions for banks and government-sponsored entities.
