Michael P. DeRosa is a Partner and the Chief Legal Officer at Friedman Vartolo LLP, where his practice focuses on serving lenders, private investors, and financial institutions. He specializes in navigating complex commercial and residential real estate litigation, title disputes, creditors’ rights, foreclosures, loan workouts, and loss mitigation strategies.
An active member of the legal community, Michael serves on the Board of Directors for the AISLE Institute (American Institute of Servicing and Legal Executives). He is also a key participant in several committees within the American Legal & Financial Network (ALFN), including the Amicus Briefs Committee, the Complex Litigation Committee, the Legislative & Regulatory Policy Committee, and the Junior Professionals & Executives (JPEG).
Michael’s professional achievements have earned him widespread recognition. In 2025, he was named to the Super Lawyers New York Metro Rising Stars List, and in 2024, he received the JPEG Picture the Future Award, honoring his exceptional contributions to the legal profession.
Outside of his legal practice, Michael is committed to giving back to his community. He volunteers as a youth soccer and basketball coach and actively participates in several professional associations. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the New York State Mortgage Bankers Association. Additionally, he contributes his expertise to the New York City Bar Association Mortgage Foreclosure Task Force, further demonstrating his dedication to both professional excellence and community service.
