August 21, 2024Significant Increase in New Jersey Post-Judgment Interest Rates Set for January 1, 2025
In a notice to the bar issued earlier today, Acting Administrative Director of the Courts, Glenn A. Grant, J.A.D., announced new post-judgment interest rates for 2025. For judgments exceeding $20,000, the annual interest rate will increase 7.5%, while for judgments under $20,000, the rate will increase to 5.5%. These changes take effect on January 1, 2025, and will apply throughout the calendar year. This adjustment represents a 2% increase from 2024 and a substantial 5.25% rise from 2023.
