Connecticut SB00257 Proposes Just Cause Eviction Requirements for Certain Tenants
March 16, 2026Florida House Bill 837, titled “Affordable Housing”(“HB 837”), amends Chapters 125 and 166, Florida Statutes, to revise provisions governing how counties and municipalities regulate residential development. The bill requires local governments to authorize qualifying affordable housing developments on property zoned for industrial use when specified statutory criteria are satisfied. The bill further provides that such developments must be approved administratively and may not require a comprehensive plan amendment if the statutory conditions are met. As drafted, HB 837 modifies existing land use statutes to mandate administrative approval of qualifying affordable housing developments within certain industrial zoning classifications.
HB 837 is listed for consideration during the 2026 legislative session and specifies an effective date of July 1, 2026. The bill text and legislative history are available through the official Florida Senate legislative portal.
